We are developing the sheep and goat sector in the Republic of Moldova
The mission of the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca OviCaprin cluster is to strengthen its leadership position in the sheep and goat milk industry, contributing to the economic development of the micro-region, providing high-quality dairy products to the Moldovan market, and later expanding into the EU market.
We are a cluster of companies that believes in an eco-friendly, local product that is competitive on the European market.
The Cimișlia-Basarabeasca OviCaprin Cluster specializes primarily in the production and processing of sheep and goat milk, as well as derivative products such as meat, hides, and wool. The cluster was formalized on October 10, 2023, when key regional stakeholders signed the Memorandum of Agreement to establish the cluster, elected the governing bodies, and approved the Development Roadmap for the 2023-2025 period. The goal of the Memorandum is to create and strengthen a regional partnership aimed at stimulating innovation, competitiveness, and the livestock potential of the Cimișlia and Basarabeasca districts.
The cluster is coordinated by the cluster management entity – the NGO ‘Development through Involvement.’ The establishment of the cluster was supported by the 'Resilient and Inclusive Markets' project, implemented by UNDP Moldova and funded by the Government of Switzerland.
The micro-cluster is primarily specialized in the production and processing of sheep and goat milk, while also ensuring the production of derivative products such as meat, hides, and wool.
