On October 28-29, 2023, the 7th edition of the pastoral festival "Mioriță Laie, Laie Bucălae" took place in Cimișlia. The event was organized by the National Federation of Sheep and Goat Farmers for Milk and Meat, led by Mr. Pavel Prisacaru, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova. This is the only festival in Moldova that promotes the traditional craft of shepherding while also encouraging the development of this sector.
Members of the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Ovi-Caprine Cluster actively participated in the festival. Farms from the cluster showcased "the finest examples of sheep and goats" at the Animal Fair, while processors from the cluster – the Cimișlia Dairy Processing Factory and the artisanal cheese-making workshop "Sălașul Baciului" – offered the public the opportunity to taste and purchase their products. Visitors of all ages and preferences found everything they needed at the festival. It featured the products of Moldovan artisans, along with exhibitions and sales fairs in various categories, while national and local artists provided entertainment with a unique two-day performance. Children were particularly thrilled to see and admire the small ruminants on display.
The festival had it all: music, dancing, cheese, and milk. One of the main goals of the event was to promote the consumption of goat's milk, which offers numerous health benefits.
During the "Mioriță Laie, Laie Bucălae" festival, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry awarded participation certificates and prizes to several participants, including members of the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Ovi-Caprine Cluster.
