The final Farmer Field School event

Today, March 28, we organized the final Farmer Field School event, marking the end of a year full of activities, experience exchange, and practical learning alongside farmers from the Cimișlia and Basarabeasca regions.
During the implementation period, 29 field school sessions were organized, hosted across 9 farms, with an average participation of 15 farmers per session.
Throughout these meetings, we addressed a wide range of essential topics for the effective management of sheep and goat farms:
✅ Animal nutrition and testing of farm-adapted supplements
✅ Sheep shearing, proper hoof trimming, and antiparasitic bathing
✅ Lambing and kid care during the first days of life
✅ Disease prevention, symptom recognition, and proper use of medication
✅ Accounting and farm management for agricultural enterprises
The field schools offered not only theoretical training, but also practical demonstrations, field visits, experiments, and the active involvement of farmers in the learning process.
We thank all participants, host farms, local facilitators, experts, and partners involved in this joint effort to modernize and professionalize the small ruminant sector.
The activities were organized by AO Dezvoltare prin Implicare and the Ovi-Caprin Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Cluster, with financial support from FAO, under the project "Support for facilitating FFS activities in the sheep and goat subsector."
