Synergies Between Projects Create New Opportunities for Farmers in the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Ovi-Caprine Cluster

Between May 23-24, 2024, two Field Schools were organized in the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Ovi-Caprine Cluster area for sheep and goat farmers from various regions of the country. The events were hosted by cluster member businesses: Caproșu Alexandru's farm in Dimitrovca, Cimișlia, and Ferma Garaba SRL in Sadaclia, Basarabeasca. The Field Schools focused on discussions and practical experience exchanges on the topic of "Parasites and Methods to Combat Them." Participants included members of the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Ovi-Caprine Cluster and sheep and goat farmers from the northern regions: Bălți, Sîngerei, Glodeni, and Drochia, who came to learn the methodology for organizing field schools. One of the event trainers was Vasile Bilba, a cluster member who attended training courses and now, in addition to his practical livestock farming activities, conducts educational sessions for his peers in the sector.
The Field Schools for sheep and goat farmers are carried out through the synergy between the Switzerland-UNDP/PRIM project "Resilient and Inclusive Markets in Moldova" and the FAO project of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. These events are organized by the NGO "Development through Involvement," the management entity of the Cimișlia-Basarabeasca Ovi-Caprine Cluster. Similar activities will be organized in the near future at other cluster member farms.
